Trainee Calibration Technician (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Calibration Technician to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. As a Trainee Calibration Technician, you will support the calibration and troubleshooting of equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical specifications. Responsibilities

• Assist in the calibration of various measurement and testing instruments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
• Support senior technicians in maintaining calibration records, schedules, and documentation using schematics and technical drawings
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on calibration equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Participate in testing procedures, recording measurements, and verifying instrument accuracy against reference standards
• Collaborate with team members to identify calibration discrepancies and assist in corrective actions
• Provide excellent customer service by supporting internal teams with technical inquiries and equipment support

Experience

• Basic understanding of technical principles gained through education or previous work experience
• Hands-on experience with maintenance tasks or calibration activities is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and teamwork
• Customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues and internal clients

Although this is a fixed-term maternity cover position term (minimum 3 months, maximum 9 months), there may be the opportunity for a permanent role in the future, subject to business needs and individual performance. Pay: £20,000.00-£23,500.00 per year
