Lea Hough is an established, highly respected, and progressive firm of Chartered Surveyors operating across Lancashire and the wider North West region. We deliver expert property advice, surveys and valuations, building surveying, and project management services to commercial, education, and residential clients.
We are seeking an ambitious, proactive, and recently graduated individual to join our team. This role represents a premier opportunity to act as our brand ambassador, shape the firm’s public image, and launch a successful career in professional services marketing and business development.
2. CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate will promote our brand and PR, drive our digital footprint, maximise our regional network, assist in securing new opportunities, and lead internal AI technology adoption.
You will bridge the gap between traditional professional surveying services and modern digital marketing strategies, helping to position Lea Hough as a forward-thinking and innovative professional services firm.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Elevation, Content Creation & Website Management
- Brand Strategy: Building the Lea Hough brand and continuously enhancing the firm’s professional image across all public and corporate channels.
- Website Development: Working closely with our website and digital marketing partners to continually improve and develop the firm’s online presence.
- Copywriting: Producing engaging news stories, blogs, sector insights, and detailed project case studies.
- Content Uploads: Managing website content and ensuring regular updates are published effectively.
- Social Media Management: Creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
- SEO Support: Assisting with search engine optimisation initiatives, working alongside external digital marketing providers to improve website visibility and search rankings through content development and website enhancements
- Case Study Development: Preparing detailed project case studies that showcase the firm’s expertise, successful outcomes, and sector knowledge for publication across digital and marketing channels
Business Development and Bid Support
- Email / Direct Marketing: Developing and executing targeted email marketing campaigns to strengthen relationships with professional contacts and referral partners.
- Business Development: Identify prospective clients, making approaches to prospective clients/sectors and targeting lead generation.
- Bid Writing: Assisting with the preparation of Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) applications, framework submissions, and tender responses.
- Marketing Analytics & Performance Monitoring: Tracking the effectiveness of marketing activities, social media engagement, website performance, and campaign outcomes, providing regular insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Client Newsletter Production: Coordinating and producing regular client newsletters, repurposing company news, technical articles, project updates, and sector insights to maintain engagement with clients and professional contacts
Accreditations & AI Innovation
- Accreditations: Supporting applications and renewals for industry accreditations and certifications, including ISO 9001 and CHAS.
- Internal AI Champion: Becoming the firm’s designated Internal AI Champion by promoting and developing the use of AI-powered productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and similar technologies, across the wider team. Encouraging innovation and identifying ways AI can improve operational efficiency, marketing effectiveness, and client service delivery. Ensure compliance with RICS standards.
Client Engagement
- Client Feedback: Actively obtaining testimonials from satisfied clients to reinforce our market credibility and reputation.
- Google Reviews: Following up completed projects and commissions to encourage online reviews and improve search visibility.
- Public Relations Support: Identifying opportunities for media coverage and industry commentary, helping to secure mentions and features in relevant regional and sector publications.
- Strategic Partnerships: Supporting the development of relationships with complementary businesses, organisations, and referral partners to strengthen the firm’s professional network and create new opportunities.
- Networking & Representation: Attending selected local business networking events to professionally represent the firm and generate new opportunities. Visiting schools, colleges, and universities to promote the surveying profession and inspire future talent. Supporting the firm’s participation in industry events, community initiatives, sponsorship opportunities, and professional networking activities to raise brand awareness and generate business opportunities.
4. APPLICANT SPECIFICATION
Criteria
Requirements
Education
Recent university graduate. Degree backgrounds in Marketing, Business, English, Communications, Digital Media, or related disciplines will be considered.
Location
Must be based in Lancashire or within a reasonable daily commuting distance.
Communication Skills
Exceptional written communication, copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills with an excellent standard of written English. A passion for creating compelling content and telling engaging stories is essential.
Public Speaking
Confident, articulate, professional, and comfortable presenting to business audiences, networking groups, schools, colleges, and universities.
Technical Skills
Experience using social media platforms, website content management systems, and digital marketing tools. Experience with Microsoft Copilot and other AI-powered productivity tools would be highly desirable.
Personal Attributes
Ambitious, proactive, confident, creative, personable, and self-motivated. Able to build relationships at all levels and represent the firm in a professional manner. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine enthusiasm for business development and marketing are essential.
5. REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: £26,000 per annum starting salary.
- Training: On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced Chartered Surveyors and senior management.
