About the Role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake civil engineering design works including roads and drainage, foundation design and structural design
  • Support senior engineers with calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation
  • Learn and apply relevant standards including British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Produce drawings and sketches for practical, constructable design solutions
  • Undertake site visits including asset inspections and construction support
  • Develop an understanding of construction methods and sequencing
  • Assist in preparing design deliverables for clients and contractors
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, clients and contractors
  • Learn best practice for quality assurance, health & safety compliance and commercial awareness
  • Any other appropriate task

About You

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good understanding of engineering fundamentals
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Provent teamworking skills
  • Full UK driving license with flexibility to attend client sites

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree, or expected degree, in Civil Engineering or an equivalent related degree (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Desire to gain Professional Qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers

Additional information

  • The role may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) across the UK and overseas, depending on project requirements
