We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to join welcoming and supportive primary schools across the Flintshire area. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, recent graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with relevant childcare experience who are committed to making a positive difference in the classroom.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to enhance learning and confidence.
  • Assist children with a range of learning needs, including Additional Learning Needs (ALN), where required.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Support classroom organisation, behaviour management, and preparation of learning resources.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children (school or childcare setting preferred).
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable, but not essential depending on experience).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is desirable for school-based roles in Wales.
