Our client, based in the Craigavon area, is widely recognised as a leading player within their niche Food Manufacturing sector. Due to ongoing demand, they now wish to recruit a Trainee / Graduate Buyer.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will carry out a wide range of interesting and varied duties and will have the opportunity to build a long term career with a company that offers excellent training as well as rewarding performance with future salary and job progression.
SUMMARY OF KEY DUTIES
· To assist in the purchasing of all produce and raw materials ensuring that they are delivered on time to meet production requirements and schedules with optimum price and quality
· To manage a physical stock take of produce on a monthly basis in readiness for the monthly management accounts as well as a daily visual check on raw materials
· To check invoices against deliveries on company’s IT system and that prices and quantity delivered balances with the inventory system
· To assist in the preparation of intake sheets and recommend In-Take Department on where the stocks should be stored on site
· To assist in sourcing new and existing produce and other raw materials which includes costing and pricing per requirement of NPD
· To deal with any supplier related problems, i.e., price, timely delivery, quality, quantity of products ordered
· To work closely with NPD, Technical, and Production Managers to ensure that production trials for new products are completed in time per critical path
· Preparation of Custom clearance reports to standard required.
· To represent Purchasing Department at various meetings on site
THE PERSON
· GCSE’s (or equivalent) in Mathematics & English
· One years’ experience in a purchasing role ideal but not essential as full training will be provided
· IT literate and proficient in the use of all MS Office
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
· Degree in a supply chain management / purchasing or business related discipline would be desirable but not essential
· Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply would be desirable but not essential
SALARY
A salary up to £27,000 per annum will be on offer to the successful candidate.
