Slay the Presentation (or Conference Call): Speak Easy with Stories!

Ugh, public speaking. The thought makes your palms sweat and your voice squeak like a rusty hinge, right? But fear not, fellow human! We've all been there. Here's the secret weapon to transform you from a presentation-dreading wallflower to a captivating speaker: the power of story.

Why Stories Work:

Stories tap into something primal. They connect with us on an emotional level, making complex ideas relatable and information more memorable. Think about it: Would you rather hear a dry list of facts about customer service or a tale about how a company used a funny anecdote to turn a grumpy client into a raving fan? It's an easy choice, right?

Craft Your Captivating Story:

  • Find the Aha! Moment: Did you overcome a challenge with a client? Did you learn a valuable lesson from a project that went sideways? Share that "aha!" moment—it shows vulnerability and makes you real.

  • Hook 'Em from the Start: Start with a bang! Use a surprising statistic, a funny anecdote, or a relatable struggle—anything to grab their attention in the first few seconds.

  • Keep it Short and Sweet: Attention spans are shorter than a goldfish these days. Focus on a single, impactful story that reinforces your point.

  • End with a Bang: Leave them wanting more! End your story with a powerful takeaway or a call to action.

Bonus Tip: Speak From the Heart!

Passion is contagious. Believe in your message and let your enthusiasm shine through. Your audience will feed off your energy and be more receptive to your ideas.

Remember:

You are not a boring robot spewing facts. You are a storyteller with a message to share! So, take a deep breath, unleash your inner narrative genius, and watch your confidence and persuasiveness soar!

Now go forth and conquer that presentation (or Zoom call)!

GET MORE SH*T DONE

I am exhausted of this hustle culture generation and the productivity gurus.

Constantly trying to convince us to work around the clock.

It's important to remember that humans are not robots.

In fact, one of my favourite productivity hacks is to ensure I take my foot of the gas pedal at times and visit a new country.

A bad career decision is not utilising your annual leave and taking a break. You can feel recharged resting and doing one of these…

✅Sleeping in on Saturday

✅Treating yourself to a cookie

✅Meeting with friends for a drink

✅Going to the cinema or theatre

✅ Travelling

 You get what I mean…

Life, your career, entrepreneurship, and anything else worth doing is a marathon not a sprint.

You cannot hustle and be a productivity machine every day.
